Stringfire!
Stringfire! Is a piece I first composed for middle-school orchestra in 2017. It is accessible for a young middle-school orchestra.
Stringfire! Is a dynamic piece with a lot of energy. It is dramatic and driving. All of the parts receive the melody at one time or another. There is even a soli section for the basses. There is a a chance to teach a simple bounced bow stroke near the beginning of the piece. There are rests to be counted and the passing of scalar passages around the orchestra. There are simple 16th-note sections to introduce this rhythm to the young orchestra.
Stringfire! is in ¾ time and alternates between G major, E minor and A minor. It is fiery and dramatic.
