Stringfire!
Stringfire! is dynamic, dramatic, and driving. All the parts receive the melody at one time or another. It is in ¾ time and alternates between G major, E minor, and A minor. There is a soli section for the basses. There are simple bounced bow strokes near the beginning of the piece. Scalar passages pass from one section to another within the orchestra. 16th-note sections introduce this rhythm to young orchestras.
