What I Focus On:

• Chord-Based Learning: Understand how chord progressions work across piano, violin/fiddle, and ukulele.
• Backing Tracks & Grooves: Play along with rhythm tracks that make practice feel like a live band session.
• Improvisation & Setlists: Build real setlists and learn to improvise instead of just staring at sheet music.

Jenny is familiar with many learning styles. Her teaching experience with all kinds of issues enables her to tailor lessons. She tailors lessons to fit your needs and your desires. Individualized lessons help you learn the best way you can.

Does music reading confuse you?

Jenny unlocks the mysteries of musical notation for you. She teaches note reading so you get what you need as you need it. She creates music for you at your level.

If you need tab on the ukulele, it’s there for you. If you need note names inside the note heads, it’s there for you. If you need a band behind you to provide the beat,  Jenny finds the app. She creates videos so you can learn your pieces with multi modalities. 

Jenny uses creativity to help you “feel” the music. She makes sure you are successful. And that you’re having fun.

She works with you to teach you the music you want to learn!

Pricing

Lessons run September through May (9 months, 30 lessons + 2 recitals). Tuition is billed monthly through Fons.

What’s included:

• 30 private lessons per year
• 2 recitals (December & May)
• Customized chord-focused materials

Please give 24 hours notice to reschedule. If you need to cancel within that window, I can switch to an online lesson or send you a practice video instead.

This structured semester policy is designed for children and families — adults have more flexibility and can choose a la carte or every-other-week lessons to fit their schedule.

Chris played viola in his school orchestra program. When he got to high school, he decided he wanted to audition for the more advanced orchestras. He took private lessons and practiced. He played in the top orchestra in high school. And he was able to continue playing in college and as an adult. Music became a life-long passion.

Michael tried band and orchestra instruments in school. Nothing really worked. Then, he tried the ukulele. He loves arranging his own music. And the creativity of learning to transpose, compose and arrange music.
